Standing by her bed, it's finally over,
this one day of pain, brought a life of joy,
looking so peaceful as she soundly sleeps,
and next to her is my newborn baby boy.
Everytime we left the house,
out shopping, me and the wife alone,
families seem to appear all around you,
but at last I have a family of my own.

I think of all the times ahead,
his first words, his first day at school,
I know looking after a baby will be hard,
but I don't care as he's worth it all.
I hold him tight in my arms,
he feels so light, light as a feather,
his little eyes staring back at me,
father and son for the first time together.

I wrote this after a freind said something last night about having a child...it jsut made me think about how a wife and a son would be everything I ever wanted....a family to call my own.
